FOUR BEAUTIFUL WAYS TO END THE YEAR

Life is a beautiful mystery that can feel full of excitement and meaning, but it can also sometimes feel like it is moving too fast, or can make us feel that we are out of control. If we can slow down enough, we are able to start seeing that we actually have the opportunity to see life as a ceremony, or a ritual. We are here wanting to experience, to learn, to embrace, and let go of different things. What if every moment we had the opportunity to be inside the ceremony of life, instead of all the other ways we could be looking at life?
Thinking of living life as a ceremony, there are many opportunities that we can make for ourselves to grow, expand, shed, and create. For many in this part of the world, stepping into the New Year can be one of these opportunities for reflection. When we can set all other “life things” aside and sit with ourselves, we can truly peer into the mirror of our past year and see what really worked well for us, and where we feel we could have shown up even better.
Here are four ways that we can utilize the power of the plants and ritual to support us in reflecting upon the past, integrating the goodness from our experiences, and setting intentions of what it is we are calling in for the new chapter of life that we are yet to write!
Inner Peace & Stillness – Support calm amidst the holiday rush
During this time of year, it can certainly bring up a lot for many. Whatever these times can bring up for us, sometimes we can really use support in coming back to our own personal place of inner peace and stillness. Something that can be very helpful is making a point of meditating more often. Even just a few minutes of intentional shutting the mind off and focusing on the breath in the body can offer great feelings of stillness expanding within us, creating more space. When we feel more space within our being, even more clarity can be illuminated for us.
There are so many plant allies that can support us to drop even further into that space of inner peace and stillness. Some of our favorite pure essential oils for this are: Lavender, Vetiver, Jasmine Grandiflorum, Cape Chamomile, and Roman Chamomile. If you are looking for a blend that was already crafted specifically for these intentions, Violet Chill, Root, Light Warrior, or Stillness are great choices.
Certainly some prefer the potency of taking supportive herbal allies internally, and there are many Ultrasonic tinctures that will bring about this state of peace and calm. Ritual: Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably (perhaps at your altar or in nature) and won’t be interrupted for 15 minutes. Take a few drops of your favorite calming oil into your hands and start by closing your eyes and taking in three deep inhalations of your chosen formula. With each breath, imagine your energy resting even further into the ground or earth you sit on. Place a hand on your heart, and one on your belly or womb. Bring your awareness into your body and feel this connection between your heart and womb, bringing in a feeling of gratitude for taking this moment for yourself. If you are working with any of the tincture formulations, take your chosen one and continue to sit in this quiet space, asking the wisdom of the plant to show you its unique way of stilling the mind and bringing an even greater inner peace to the system. Simply continue to focus on how soft you can get your belly to be and how deep you can get your breath to be in your body. Enjoy the medicine of your own internal stillness and peace.
Nature’s Embrace – Reconnect with the grounding power of winter landscapes
Something that is forever available to support and embrace us is the healing power of Nature. No matter the season, no matter the conditions, Nature is always there to bring us full system regulation. One of the reasons many of us are called to natural plant remedies, tinctures, and essential oils is because of this healing reality. Plants carry wisdom far beyond what most humans can, because they have been around so much longer than us! How many times have you felt better after you hugged a tree, or sat by a flowing creek? Nature has really got our back.
Whether you can get out into nature exactly when you need to or not, there are many essential oils and tincture formulations that can either enhance your connection with Nature, or bring Nature to you even when you aren’t able to put your feet on the earth or get your body out into the sun. Ritual: Sit with your back against a tree, perhaps even with a body of water or flowing creek near you. Feel what it feels like for Nature to be there for you in this way – for it to literally have your back. Take a few drops of the oils you resonate the most with and add a few drops to the bottoms of your bare feet. Allow this to ground you even deeper to where you are sitting. If you are working with Celestreeal tincture, take one drop into your body and close your eyes. Imagine yourself becoming one with the natural world around you, shifting from being in Nature to becoming a living, breathing part of Nature. Really allow yourself to feel your oneness with the natural world around you.

SPIRITUAL AWAKENING – ENCOURAGE DEEP REFLECTION AND HIGHER CONNECTION
Another beautiful way to end the year is by connecting spiritually to higher levels of connection that can support us in deep reflection on this past year. When we can reflect clearly to our higher levels of knowing, great clarity and direction becomes available for us.
The plants and flowers can be excellent guides when it comes to connecting with higher levels of expansiveness and spirit. Ritual: Find a space and time where you can have a good 15-20 minutes uninterrupted. If comfortable, sit in a cross-legged or lotus position with your spine straight and your hips sitting up on a meditation cushion. Bring a smile to your face and give thanks to yourself for choosing to connect deeper with your higher spiritual guides. Invite in your higher knowing, or your guides – depending on what resonates for you – with the intention of accessing the next level of spiritual awakening of your soul with so much sweetness and grace. Transformation and Renewal – Align with setting new intentions
