Our Vintage Rose Absolutes from 2014 are quite precious and rare – these come from my mentors collection when he got out of the business! I have less than 16 ounces of each of these extracts and have updated / made this page live in March 2026. These are unique, special rose extracts and carry uncommon aromatic signatures that are best appreciated by Rose lovers, collectors and exotic perfumers. I really enjoy these unique Vintage Rose Absolutes, particularly for blending to add deep and unique signatures of Rose. Once these Vintage batches are gone, they are gone forever!

True steam distilled rose otto will freeze when cold (low room temperature) and can be a great indicator of true, authentic Rose Otto. This is our finest, alchemically produced “Premium” Rose Otto where our Iranian supplier removes some of the heavier waxes using oil refinery equipment, to yield the most light & aromatic Iranian Rose Otto – the premium is liquid at room temperature as the denser waxes & lipids which solidify at lower temperatures are removed).

I tend to prefer to use our Premium Rose Otto for more etheric, spiritual blends – the Rose Absolute is superior for a deeper, full-bodied Rose aroma and is assessible at a more affordable price. I find steam distilled Rose Otto is lighter, less fully bodied Rose aromatic and more etheric / “heady” – excellent for botanical perfumes that are higher in nature, like a mood elevating, heart activating perfume. Slightly spiritually intoxicating.

True Bulgarian Rose Absolute is very well appreciated for it’s deep red, and vibrant orange hues, and rose-rich aroma with a honeyed undertone. My preference for foods/beverages is typically surprisingly rose absolute (despite the solvent extraction which may leave micro amounts of solvent not desired for internal use) as it’s more full bodied, rich and deep in the heart center, and expresses a fuller flavor.

Rose Absolute is noted on the FDA’s GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) List for flavoring agents. Rose Absolute uses pharmaceutical grade hexane to extract a full spectrum cross-section of rose extract. Also has a bold red color, very rich honey-like notes. Rose otto is very light in body and smells highly of top notes. We source red & pink rose, rosa damascena from Bulgarian, which is the most common rose commercially available, highly appreciated world-wide ~ Rose Absolutely Exquisite 🙂

My favorite Rose extract which I suggest for most people is our Bulgarian Rose Anointing Oil. This infuses Bulgarian Rose Absolute into our ORMUS Enhanced Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil, tunes it in our 432 HZ scale “F” crystal bowl, and yields a highly aromatic rose to wear for a fraction of the cost of our other oils. For individuals wearing the Rose oil, this tends to be the best option and you get the most “bang for your buck”. Most wouldn’t even know our Rose Anointing Oil is diluted as it’s very aromatically potent. Our Rose Anointing Oil comes at a more affordable cost, also allowing this precious rare & exotic extract to be shared with more people!

For perfumers, aromatherapists making their own blends and essential oil collectors, the pure Rose Absolute or pure Rose Otto might be a better option for increased versatility.

If you are a Rose lover of the highest caliber, check out our Rose Super blend – this combines three different Rose extracts: two species and two different extraction methods to produce the most aromatically complete, honey-musk, vibrant Rose aroma. This is my go-to for the most rich and divine wear daily Rose oil. This special blend is also available as an authentic perfume infused in Organic Honey Spirits as our Rose Perfume.

For our most unique Rose extract, I highly recommend our Bourbon Rose Absolute from India. This carries a rich, deep green, honey-musked rose aroma, unlike more traditional rose extracts. Bourbon Rose is one of my favorite floral extracts to make perfumes with and creates the most fantastic formulations (ie. our wedding blend Fresh Love). For those who crave a traditional Rose aroma, I suggest going with our Rose Absolute or Rose Anointing Oil instead. Bourbon Rose Absolute is for Rose collectors and those with more evolved aromatic palettes, and is very beautiful!

As a note, Bourbon Rose Absolute is my personal favorite Rose extract out of ~40 I’ve experienced, but it is not my primary choice as an “everyday” Rose scent!

How to Use

• Regal baths using 1-3 drops (especially rose absolute), combine with cedar oil for a deeply relaxing experience with a lover.
• Create a massage lotion using rose essential oil and rub into the stomach during a menstrual cycle to assist in regular flow.
• Can be infused in low concentrations to foods/beverages (Doc’s preference is rose absolute).
• Add 1 drop into raw honey for an intoxicating heart opening treat.
• Great for calming the nerves, infuse into a diffuser.
• Infuse into coconut oil to aid in fighting athlete’s foot or other fungal infections.
• Super potent topically against cold-sores – apply neat!
• Amazing ingredient as a heart-note in botanical perfumery.

Precautions

Contraindicated in first trimester. May cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals (rare) (ie. Eugenol content). Rare, exotic & costly extract – consider diluted for use as botanical perfume.
