Bajakah root belongs to the Spatholobus genus, which encompasses several species known for their medicinal value. Bajakah is specifically revered for its potential healing properties and is often sought after for its purported anti-tumor and immune-boosting effects. Consuming the root regularly helps to keep a body able, the mind sharpened, and enhances sex-drive, promoting a general vitality as one ages.

Indigenous communities, especially the Dayak tribe in Borneo, have incorporated Bajakah root into their traditional medicine practices. Some indigenous communities use Bajakah as a remedy for various ailments, including fever, inflammation, joint pain, and skin conditions. Indigenous healers and locals prepare decoctions or infusions from the root and administer it as a treatment for cancer patients, though scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited and currently undergoing further research (28 papers noted on “spatholobus cancer” in May 2025).

Botanically, the Bajakah root belongs to the Spatholobus genus, which encompasses several species known for their medicinal value (ie. Spatholobus littoralis / Spatholobus suberectus). Bajakah is specifically revered for its potential healing qualities and is often sought after for its purported anti-tumor and immune-boosting effects. Our company sources a variety of 4 different Bajakah root species from Indonesia which are notably similar in their therapeutic value, and carry slightly different physical qualities and effects.

For several years now, I’ve been sourcing and steeping the roots in a crock-pot, slowly sipping on the Bajakah root tea for 2-3 days.  I’ve noticed a type of physical energy, enhanced mood, increased sexual desire and immune support when I have drank various varieties of this root.  I’ve consumed single species by themselves, combined with other Bajakah species, and in conjunction with other medicinal herbs.  Our Ultrasonic Bajakah Tincture delivers a potent lift of energy, and notable vitality in every dropper!  I’ll use this tincture several times throughout the week to support my general level of vitality, or take a dose if I am feeling overly depleted.  I probably rotate between Bajakah, Jing-Chi, Epimedium, Tribulus and Tongkat Ali for their male tonic herb effects.

Our friend Daniel works with the tribes who harvest this root wildly, managing the supply and sustainably harvesting this precious root.  Efforts are being made to promote sustainable harvesting practices and preserve the forests where Bajakah grows, to ensure its availability for future generations – Daniel works directly with the local indigenous community to harvest and hold right relation with this special botanical!
