Dr. Nick's Notes
In 2025, my wife and I took a trip to Thailand for my 40th birthday and we were fortunate enough to find a family who grows, processes and extracts beautiful flowers & medicinal herbs. During this journey, we visited the first blue lotus operation & extraction factory I’ve had the pleasure of touring. From seeing the rose plants, lotus pond, tasting their nectar-rich Blue Lotus & Rose Honey, I rose in love with the Thai vibration of aromatic flowers.
On these lands the bees snack almost exclusively on rose and blue lotus which has a very long season of growth in Thailand (year round!). The result is a divine nectar which carries the essence, energy and vitality of the Blue Lotus flowers. We feel very fortunate to be able to supply a limited quantity of this unique and sacred Blue Lotus Honey. The flavor profile is quite unique, and can be added in small amounts to your teas, snacks, healthful biscuits and other nourishing treats. We highly recommend using a wooden or mother of pearl spoon to enjoy this precious honey!
Ingredients
100% Pure, Organic Honey produced by Wild Honey Bees primarily consuming Blue Lotus Flower Pollen.
FAQs
Blue Lotus Honey is raw honey produced by bees that feed almost exclusively on Blue Lotus flower pollen at the same family farm in Thailand that supplies EOW's entire Blue Lotus line. Unlike the Absolute or Resin, which are directly extracted from the flower through solvent or water-based processes, Blue Lotus Honey is a naturally occurring expression of the plant, meaning the bees themselves have done the work of concentrating the flower's character into the honey, without any added extract, infusion, or additional processing on EOW's part beyond harvesting and bottling. This is simply a naturally harvested honey with a flavor profile unlike any other on the planet!
No, Blue Lotus Honey is not infused with any added Blue Lotus oil or extract at any point in its production, and this distinction is important to understanding what makes the product special. The honey comes directly from beehives situated near the Blue Lotus ponds in Thailand, and the plant's natural vanilla, caramel, and floral character expresses itself organically through the bees' diet and the honey they produce. This makes Blue Lotus Honey a genuinely rare botanical food, a natural expression of the plant rather than a flavored or artificially enhanced product manufactured to taste like Blue Lotus.
Blue Lotus Honey can be enjoyed the same way any specialty raw honey would be, stirred into warm tea, drizzled over food such as yogurt or toast, or eaten directly by the spoonful to experience its floral, vanilla, and caramel notes without dilution. Because supply is limited each year depending on the pollination cycle, many customers treat it as a treasured seasonal item rather than an everyday pantry staple, savoring it slowly rather than using it in large quantities the way one might use a standard grocery-store honey for everyday cooking or baking. Enjoyed with tiny spoons shared with friends is the best way to go!
Blue Lotus Honey depends entirely on bees having consistent, almost exclusive access to Blue Lotus flower pollen, a very specific foraging condition that only occurs near the ponds where the flowers are cultivated on EOW's partner farm in Thailand. Because the honey supply is tied directly to the flowering and pollination cycle of the Blue Lotus ponds each year, quantities are naturally limited and availability can vary significantly from season to season depending on weather, bloom timing, and hive health, which is part of why EOW describes it as an extremely low-supply item within the broader Blue Lotus collection and why it sometimes sells out between harvests.
Blue Lotus Honey carries a more complex flavor profile than typical honey, with characteristic vanilla and caramel undertones layered over a floral sweetness that reflects the bees' near-exclusive Blue Lotus foraging throughout the season. Where standard wildflower or clover honey tends to taste primarily sweet with mild, generic floral notes, Blue Lotus Honey's distinct vanilla and caramel character sets it apart, offering a more nuanced tasting experience for those who appreciate specialty single-source honeys the way a wine connoisseur might appreciate a single-vineyard vintage over a generic table blend. This is a boutique, specialty collector honey!
