Dr. Nick Notes
Carrot Seed oil provides a superior skin care ingredient with a rich nutrient profile to support regeneration & nourishment of the skin. Â Very calming to the nervous system, Carrot Seed (CO2) has a relaxing quality to its essence. Carrot seed is a spectacular ingredient for use with therapeutic formulas and in very small quantities can really help soften the scent, enhance relaxation and add a nourishing quality. Â Carrot Seed is wonderful applied to the skin before, during and after sun exposure with its nutritive properties.
Carrot Seed CO2 Extract can be a wonderful digestive agent, I have found applying this onto the stomach and taking deep inhalations to be helpful for stomach upsets & nausea. Â The scent is very soothing and calming, bringing comfort and can reduce high-levels of stress. Very important to avoid this extract during times of pregnancy or breastfeeding as Chinese research found at high doses Carrot Seed may have an abortifactant reaction - YIKES!

FAQs
Carrot Seed CO2 is produced from the seeds of Daucus carota using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. Compared to steam-distilled carrot seed essential oil, the CO2 version captures a significantly broader spectrum of the seed's bioactive compounds, including higher concentrations of carotol, the primary therapeutic constituent, and a fuller complement of the antioxidant carotenoids that give carrot seed its reputation as a premium skin care ingredient. The CO2 extract is more potent, more complete, and more closely represents the full chemistry of the seed.
Carrot Seed CO2 is one of the most celebrated ingredients in natural skin care for aging, sun-damaged, and mature skin. It is rich in antioxidants and compounds that support cellular renewal and protect the skin from oxidative stress. Many formulas use it for its reputation as one of the most potent natural SPF ingredients, though it should not be relied upon as a standalone sunscreen. We have not seen fortified research to back the claims of SPF. It supports a more even skin tone, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, and promotes a luminous, vital-looking complexion.
Carrot Seed CO2 is used at low concentrations in facial oils, serums, and creams, typically at 0.5 to 2 percent of the total formula. A simple and effective approach is to add a few drops to your existing facial oil or moisturizer. It blends beautifully with rose hip seed carrier oil, sea buckthorn, and frankincense for a comprehensive anti-aging facial oil. Because of its concentration, a little goes a very long way, and it is best used as part of a formula rather than applied neat.
Carrot Seed CO2 has an earthy, warm, slightly woody aroma with a distinct rooty character that is somewhat reminiscent of fresh carrots and dried herbs. It is not a particularly glamorous fragrance on its own, but it blends well into skin care formulas where its aromatic contribution is subtle. In natural perfumery, it is occasionally used in small amounts to add an interesting earthy, rooty depth to compositions.
In skin care formulas, Carrot Seed CO2 pairs beautifully with other regenerative and anti-aging oils. Frankincense is a classic companion for its own skin-renewing properties. Helichrysum adds powerful antioxidant and scar-reducing support. Lavender contributes healing and calming properties. Rose Absolute adds a luxurious floral note and additional skin benefits. For the carrier oil base, rosehip seed and sea buckthorn are both excellent companions to Carrot Seed CO2 in anti-aging facial oil formulas.

Juan (Essential Oil Wizardry) –
A must have for sun damage.
Out here in south Florida the sun is unforgiving.
Thanks Nick for your contribution to the tribe.

Have to give this 5 stars, I’ve only used it the one way so far, and if this is the only way I use it, that’s good enough for me.
I mixed a few drops with some warmed up coconut oil and applied it to some long term damaged skin, within a week it’s nearly cleared. Genuinely amazed.
