Dr. Nick Notes
Chinese Cedar essential oil is a truly unique cedar extract that has some smoky characteristics reminiscent of destructively distilled Cade (from juniper tress) but has an unprecendented woodiness and soft balance underneath. CC is a phenomenal botanical ingredient to help create a more inviting & earthy environment using a diffuser. CC also works well in facial toners, body care scrubs to tighten pores, clear up acne and offer the skin some cleansing. A few drops into the bathtub and onto the bottom of the feet is truly a relaxing treat ~
What I’ve found is Chinese Cedar is a truly unique aromatic note for use in botanical perfumery as a base note. Deep, rich and smoky, when applied to the skin, sweet aromatic tones proliferate as the essence evaporates off of the skin. For perfumers, this is definitely an uncommon essence to take home and play with!
How to Use
- Chinese Cedar works as an anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and may be massaged into the skin – try 10% infused into a carrier such as almond, jojoba or coconut oil.
- A few drops in a hot bath melts soreness away and ease the mind.
- Can apply directly onto wounds neat or diluted for sensitive skin.
- Can be applied to the bottom of the feet for a grounding effect
- Add 1-3 drops into 4 oz water for use as a mouthwash
- Add a drop of two to facial products for astringent and tonifying properties
- Add to a room diffuser using several drops to neutralize offensive smells and cleanse the area.
- Great respiratory aid to stimulate the immune system – try vaporizing one drop in an Essential VAAAPP or Firefly Vaporizer of place a few drops in the hands and take deep inhalations.
~ Be Blessed ~
