Sacred root preserved wisdom from the native priests / elders of the Virgin Islands.  Kakanga Root is used by the Rastas and medicine elders in the local region.  The indigenous will steep these roots in wine and brew powerful tonics or add with other herbs, roots and bush to craft teas for well-being.  Drinking “Bush Tea” or “Root Tea” on the island is popular for people of all ages to physically motivate.  Kakanga (known in roots beverages) is added to build energy or chi-force, strengthen sexual potency, and to aid the sick / weak.  When young people are lazy, elders will feed kakanga root to build their inner fire to take action.  Very masculine and powerful tonic, truly a gift of this island for their people, and for a select few through our audience!

Our wildcrafted Kakanga Root is harvested on the island by our dear Rastafarian brother, Jah Chris from the island of St. Croix ~ his harvest practices are consciously considered, taught by his indigenous elders to follow the roots towards the tips and to harvest humble amounts, leaving plenty of root for the tree to thrive.  The root structure of the Kananga tree provides long spreading root networks which journey in opposite directions.  The importance of sustainable harvesting of Kakanga Root is well imprinted in Jah Chris awareness & practice.

Docta’s Notes

To have access to Kakanga Root is quite a gift as this root is extremely rare – especially as a westerner. I’ve experimented with plant dieting this raw root for about a week – which was more complex and a time commitment to ingest by boiling tea throughout the day. During my one-week plant diet of ingesting 1-2.5 grams / day using a dry-blade vitamix, I used this ground root to make tea on the rise, while resteeping the roots throughout the day.

Indigenous wisdom the Kakanga Roots share: to strengthen the physical body, aid with deeper confidence, inspire deep motivation.  The Kakanga Roots are prescribed locally by the medicine elders for “lazy ones”.  Elder priests warn teenagers on the island not to take too much to prevent having a ferocious erection (priaprism) – this is not far from the truth and this root demands to be respected!

Our Ultrasonic Extracted Kananga Tincture is my absolute FAVORITE way to work with this plant teacher.  I find the tincture to be easier to ingest, a bit more mild on the oral mucosa (despite the alcohol in the tincture!) than working with the pure root.  Two weeks in, I find myself enjoying 1/2 – 2 dropperful every few days for an extra boost ~ in health, vitality, inspiration, sexual potency and inner guidance.  This Kakanga Tincture is truly a gift crafted from the Virgin Islands!

Notes from Jah Chris, the Island collector of KAKANGA ROOT

Kakanga is a bitter tasting root found in the interior(bush, jungle, rainforest) of many Caribbean / African countries. Once the desired root is found and cut out of the bottom of its tree, you can then boil it. It is known by Rastafarians and bush shamans alike to be stronger than ginseng and the ultimate aphrodisiac for sexual functions.
