Dr. Nick Notes
Calendula oil is one of those extracts to keep in your home farmacopiea for it's tremendous healing properties. Due to it's anti-microbial properties in conjunction to the anti-inflammatory response, calendula extract is a powerful aid to any cut, wound, infection or burn when applied topically. The extract may be applied directly to any area on the skin which is in need of healing. organic Calendula extract can also be used as an ingredient with home-made oral tooth care products.
Calendula has been commonly used to aid in skin conditions with many antedotal reports for use with eczema, varicose veins, athlete's foot and psoriasis. Think balancing the skin's moisture, reducing topical infections of a fungal and bacterial nature. Calendula extract is also super useful due to it's mild nature in aiding with diaper rash and skin infections in babies or young children. After exposure to sunlight, calendula oil soothes the skin and helps heal sunburns more quickly.
This product pure comes as a solid like paste which is difficult to apply and stains the clothing. We offer a calendula infused oil which is highly concentrated and infused into fractionated coconut oil for easier usage and higher absorption rate. The pure extract is the texture of a malleable cream that is easy to apply to skin or formulations. The pure extract is very soft to spread and remains solid at room temperature.
The manufacturer notes that our CO2 extract contains pentacyclic triterpene alcohols and triterpendiol monoesters including faradiol esters esterified mainly with myristic- and palmitic acids. The faradiol esters have a significant anti-inflammatory effect and have been found at 25 percent! Other ingredients found in the pure extract are sterols, carotenes and cuticular waxes.
