Dr. Nick's Notes
If I were attracted to wearing a single botanical oil as a perfume or cologne daily, this one would surely be the ONE. Comparing all of my cedarwood oils, Cedar Atlas and Himalayan Cedar are my absolute favorite. This viscous oil carries a full spectrum of information which spells out a sweet masculine scent with smooth grounding base notes of very elevated qualities.
To use Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil, I take one drop and apply it neat on my neck & chest and rub it around my aura. Sometimes I place a drop in between my third eye before a meditation or grounding intention. Vaporized, the oil is very calming, grounding yet expansive. The fragrance of Atlas Cedarwood oil provides sensual aphrodisiac properties, think masculine safety, grounding and the sturdiness of a cedar tree.
Some of my favorite oil combinations with Cedar Atlas include Royal Sandalwood & Blood Orange – the combination of these three oils in a VAAAPP vaporizer are a REMARKABLE entry to heaven, available as the Cosmic Orgasm through our website. Cosmic Orgasm was crafted in Peru on New Year (2012) when a room full of individuals including myself passed around the trio combination (Sandalwood, Cedar, Blood Orange) for a half hour each taking about 1 minute to enjoy this heavenly blend through a vaporizer. This etheric & tasty experience was an aromatic orgasm in our mouth’s while grounding in our focus, expanding our consciousness and calming our nervous system.
I have experience with Atlas Cedar Oil directly on warts on the bottom of my feet which had seemed to work safely & easily dissolving them over 1-2 weeks. I was inconsistent with my application, but I imagine that if I used the oil 2-3 times daily for four weeks, I would permanent remove any warts I have on my foot. Reviewing this years later, I am happy to report that using the Cedar Atlas oil periodically for several months seemed to remove the three warts which once rested on my foot. One source recommends to avoid use of this oil in pregnancy. Quite interesting that the Egyptians included cedarwood in the embalming process.
Several of EOW’s Essential Oil Blends with Atlas Cedarwood include: Cosmic Orgasm, Fresh Love, Return to Grace, Celest~TreeAL, Oil of Elevation.
FAQs
Atlas cedarwood essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of Cedrus atlantica, a majestic evergreen tree native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria. It is one of three most popular cedarwood oils on the market -- along with Virginian and Himalayan cedarwood -- and is generally considered the most complex and therapeutically rich of the three. The oil is extracted from the wood chips and sawdust produced by the timber industry, making it a byproduct of sustainable forestry.
Atlas cedarwood has a warm, woody, slightly sweet aroma with a rich, almost honey-like depth underneath the cedar character. Its softer and more complex than Virginian cedarwood, with a milky warmth that makes it reminiscent of sandalwood. There is a dry, balsamic quality to it that develops beautifully over time. Its one of the most universally appealing essential oils -- almost everyone finds it grounding and pleasant, which makes it a workhorse in blending.
Atlas cedarwood is one of the most grounding oils in aromatherapy. Its used to ease anxiety, quiet an overactive mind, and promote a sense of calm, centered stability. Its excellent for sleep support when diffused in the bedroom. For the skin and scalp, cedarwood is well-regarded for supporting healthy hair growth and managing oily skin conditions. Its also a natural insect repellent -- particularly effective against moths, which is why cedar has historically been used in closets and hope chests.
Yes -- Atlas cedarwood is one of the most recommended essential oils for scalp health and hair growth support. Its thought to work by stimulating blood circulation to the scalp and supporting a balanced scalp environment. A well-known study found that a blend including cedarwood oil significantly improved hair growth in patients with alopecia areata when massaged into the scalp regularly. For a DIY hair treatment, add a few drops to jojoba oil and massage into the scalp, leave for 20-30 minutes before washing.
Both are wonderful oils but quite different in character. Atlas cedarwood from Cedrus atlantica is a true cedar and has a warmer, more complex, slightly sweet and honey-like profile. Virginian cedarwood from Juniperus virginiana is actually a juniper and has a drier, sharper, more pencil-shaving woodiness. Virginian cedarwood is a classic perfumery base note fixative. Atlas cedarwood is more rounded and versatile, performing well in both aromatherapy and perfumery. Many blenders like to use them together for the best of both profiles.

I have been seeing a dermatologist every four weeks this whole past year for warts on my face and finger. They spread easily because they are I. A place that I shave. Freezing them, compound W, Wart Peel etc etc; helps a bit but always another and so disappointing because I want to put my money and energy elsewhere. I ordered the Cedar Atlas and knew it was powerful because I felt some strong energetic pulsing and the aroma-Wow! I dab it on after I shave and the wart in my finger is unbelievably going away fast. Three applications and a huge change already! Thank you Dr Nick for these pure and strongly vibrational oils as they have within them such an intention from you to help and heal.
