Suggested Uses
Great and widely used for aromatherapy. Blue Lotus Oil is known as a natural aphrodisiac. Can be used for aromatherapy, promotion of sexual desire, feelings of intrinsic ecstasy, and mild euphoria. Blue lotus Absolute may speed up circulation, and enhance connection one's connection to their inner intuition. Blue Lotus Absolute is a wonderful meditation aid, opening the chakras (specifically the third eye and crown) and aiding one on their spiritual path. Dispels negative emotions and thoughts.
A few drops can be added to a carrier oil to create a massage oil. The active alkaloids in lily and lotus absolutes will absorb through the skin, meaning that both the giver and the receiver of a massage with such an oil will experience gentle psychoactive / mood elevating effects. Absolute oils may also be added to smoking blends to potentiate and enrich the experience – simply add one drop of the essential oil to a dose of the herb to experience its full effects. Lily and lotus essential oils may also be placed in oil warmers to create powerful aromatherapy experiences. Some people also report adding a few drops to wine to create a psychoactive brew (try 1 drop/dab per 4-16 ounces). Finally, if you’re looking for a quick and immediate experience with the power of these plants, simply lift Blue Lotus Oil to your nose and inhale – you will experience the unmistakable effects within five to ten inhalations.
Good for tantric massages, and stimulates sexual desire and passion. Goes great in teas and cocktails, and is great for massages as the giver and receiver will experience feelings of euphoria. Used in perfumes, bath oils, shower gels, anointing blends, potpourri, facial steam treatments and hair treatments or masks, incense, room fresheners, scented candles and other aromatic products. When used during meditation, Blue Lotus is believed to promote heightened spiritual growth, as it soothes and calms, can promote kindness, and gives a better perception of understanding and forgiveness. When used in massage it may be helpful for reducing symptoms of rheumatism, aches and pains, though these therapeutic purposes wouldn't be my primary purpose for using this sacred oil. Always blend with a carrier oil before topical use.
Current Batches
Blue Lotus Absolute - Our current Blue Lotus Absolute is sourced from an amazing family operation in Thailand. The lotus is grown organically in their lotus pond and processed at their factory on-site, within a very short distance of harvesting. Aromatically, Thai Blue Lotus carries honey, mild caramel, apple pie and doesn't express the dieselic aromatic note which is present in Egyptian / Sri-Lankan flowers. This is one of the most sweet Blue Lotus Absolutes on the market, and we are grateful we had the opportunity to personally visit their operation and witness their extraction process in 2025.
Anointing Oil ~ We are now producing a 9.3+% Anointing Oil (Infused into ORMUS Enhanced Fractionated Coconut Oil) to bring costs down to the end user, and to empower this precious (limited) resource spread into more hands worldwide. This is an ideal formulation and perfect for individuals wanting to use this aromatically as a perfume on their body! Strong enough for most & Dr. Nick's current preferred direct application for regularly wearing Blue Lotus as a Botanical Perfume ~
100x Resin / Extract ~ In our travels to Thailand early 2025, we were able to visit one of our supplier's farms / factories and got to witness the production of Blue Lotus! From growing to processing, we were quite inspired by what we witnessed. Our supplier in Thailand are producing a unique & precious Blue Lotus 100:1 (100x) Extract, which 100 grams is concentrated into 1 gram of final extract.
I find this to be relatively aromatic, and amongst the most psychoactive of all our Blue Lotus Extracts. The wonder of this extract can be found upon placing into tea, wine, water. I personally enjoy ingesting this straight, using a small spoon or toothpick, and starting low and expanding outward. Very supportive for enhancing meditation, colors, quieting thoughts and enhancing creativity. Very impressed with this new extract, can purchase here!

History
In Ancient Egypt, blue lotus was a symbol of sexuality and was said to promote sexual desire, euphoria, and ecstasy. It is also believed that these entheogens played a big role in the meditative and spiritual rituals of the Egyptians, the Mayans, and many other ancient peoples.
The Blue Lotus was also known in Egypt as a symbol of the universe, fertility, and sexuality. The lotus flower is symbology for the crown chakra. It is prominently represented in ancient Egyptian art. The Blue Lotus was found scattered over Tutankhamen's body when the Pharaoh's tomb was opened in 1922.
Many historians thought it was a purely symbolic flower but there maybe some reason to believe that Egyptians used it to induce an ecstatic state, stimulation, and hallucinations, in addition to its wide use as a general remedy against illness. When Nymphaea caerulea is smoked or drank after being soaked in water or wine, it acted as an intoxicant. The Blue Lotus contain Aporphine, apomorphine (which is a dopamine agonist), nuciferine which has antispasmodic properties. The Blue Lotus flower was considered to be a magical, sacred flower and it appears as a common motif in numerous ancient Egyptian paintings. The flower was sometimes used in order to induce and ecstatic state and hallucinations.

Dr. Nick's Notes
Blue Lotus Oil is a potent aphrodisiac and synergizes well with most essences in product development. The energy that Blue Lotus Absolute presents are very unique vibrations: a playful, sensual essence which opens the heart, third eye and allows inner wisdom to shine. Blue Lotus Oil confers aromatic notes and energetic are quite unique – calming, unifying, centering – enhances the mood, clears the mind and strengths connection to source. Blue Lotus is simply an intoxicating essence, considered one of the world’s most rare-precious extracts.
Personally I use Blue Lotus Oil ceremonially and very sparingly. Single drops/dabs can lift an entire bottle of a concentrated formula into a new essence. Our Blue Lotus Absolute has been used in small concentration added to ormus solution, botanical perfumes, mineral concentrates and psychoactive blends to create novel and potent formulations. 1 mL/gram goes a long way and should be treasured & respected. Blue Lotus Oil is very concentrated, and one can use small amounts in a carrier oil for a massage oil, or to anoint for ceremonial purposes. BL is quite intriguing vaporized as a pure extract, or used in a “dab rig” for maximal & balanced psychotropic properties, all while using the least amount of this ultra precious extract.
The effects seem to be very clear with a soft euphoria, inner giddiness & calm. Slightly cannabinoid like properties (similar to Cannabidiol), almost opiating without any body dysphoria or addictive qualities – especially in the CO2 Extract of Blue Lotus! Gently floaty, uplifting and heavenly to vaporize using the Essential VAAAPP or appropriate technique through a “dabbing unit”. Another efficient usage of Blue Lotus can be experienced with our Blue Lotus Tincture which is quite user-friendly, easy for the end-user to use one drop at a time and is available to our Alchemy Club Members ~
FAQs
Blue Lotus Absolute is a highly concentrated aromatic extract derived from the flowers of Nymphaea caerulea, the sacred blue water lily. It's produced through solvent extraction, where pharmaceutical-grade hexane draws out the aromatic concrete from the delicate petals. The concrete is then washed with ethanol to isolate the pure aromatic constituents, resulting in a rich, full-spectrum absolute that captures the flower's complete aromatic and therapeutic profile. This method preserves compounds that would be lost through steam distillation, making the absolute the most aromatically complex form of Blue Lotus available.
These are two very different products with distinct use cases. The Absolute is an aromatic extract prized for its rich, complex scent profile — it's the go-to for perfumery, aromatherapy, massage oils, and diffuser blends. The Resin is a 100x concentrated extract focused more on the flower's psychoactive and meditative properties, typically taken directly by mouth, dissolved in tea, or sometimes burned as incense. Think of the Absolute as the aromatic experience and the Resin as the embodied, internal experience.
Blue Lotus Absolute has a sweet, deeply floral aroma with soft powdery undertones and subtle fruity notes. Many people describe it as both euphoric and calming at the same time — simultaneously uplifting and grounding. It's one of the most distinctive scents in natural perfumery, often compared to a blend of sweet florals with a hint of vanilla. Some describe it as a honeyed apple pie. The aroma is rich enough that just a tiny amount goes a long way.
There are several ways to work with Blue Lotus Absolute aromatically. You can add a few drops to most diffusers or oil warmer for a powerful aromatherapy session. Blue Lotus Absolute is thick so it may want to be combined with thinner essential oils aromatically compatible for some diffusers. For meditation, many practitioners apply a diluted amount to the pulse points or the third eye area before sitting. You can also simply lift the bottle to your nose and inhale slowly — the effects are often noticeable within just a few breaths. For massage, dilute a few drops into a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil. The active compounds absorb through the skin, so both the giver and receiver of the massage experience the flower's gentle mood-elevating effects. Some just like to wear the Blue Lotus Absolute for it's mystical aromatic aroma for its sensual, mysterious nature.
Blue Lotus Absolute blends beautifully with a wide range of oils. For a deep, exotic profile, try pairing it with frankincense, oud, or sandalwood. For a brighter floral bouquet, it works wonderfully with ylang ylang, rose, jasmine, or neroli. Citrus oils like bergamot and lime add a lovely lift to the sweetness. Resinous notes like styrax, benzoin, opoponax and myrrh complement its depth, while geranium and rosewood help bridge it into more complex blends. It's a versatile ingredient that plays well with almost any aromatic family, and it is an ingredient for many formulations at Essential Oil Wizardry.
Blue Lotus Absolute is highly concentrated, so we always recommend diluting it in a carrier oil before applying to the skin. A good starting ratio is a few drops per ounce of carrier oil like jojoba or fractionated coconut oil. This makes a beautiful facial oil, body oil, or massage blend. Always do a small patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin. Pregnant or nursing individuals should consult a healthcare professional before use, and the product is not recommended for use on children or infants.
Many people find Blue Lotus Absolute deeply calming and use it as part of their evening wind-down or sleep routine. The flower contains natural compounds like nuciferine and aporphine that have been traditionally associated with relaxation and a gentle sense of euphoria. When diffused before bed or applied diluted to the chest and temples, it can help create a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere that supports restful sleep. It's also a popular choice for lucid dreaming practices.
Blue Lotus holds deep roots in ancient Egyptian civilization, where it was considered sacred and appeared throughout art, hieroglyphs, and religious ceremonies. The flower was a symbol of the sun, creation, and rebirth — it was even found scattered over King Tutankhamun's body when his tomb was opened in 1922. The Egyptians traditionally steeped the flowers in wine for ceremonial and social use. It has been said women used to apply wax with Blue Lotus flowers in their hair at parties, and as they sweat, the mystical aroma would waft around them causing attraction and euphoria. Beyond Egypt, Blue Lotus also holds significance in Hindu mythology and has been used across various cultures as a meditation aid, aphrodisiac, and spiritual tool for connecting with higher states of awareness.

Absolutely hypnotic. I applied to wrists and third eye and proceeded to meditate where I was launched into a dreamscape floating feeling that felt similar to dissociative states I’ve experienced. 10/10 would recommend for relaxation and meditation. Im curious to try it in tea next!
