Dr. Nick's Notes
Pimento berries (Allspice berries) have a long history of therapeutic use for digestive imbalances. This warm and spicy oil is similar to cinnamon or clove due to its high eugenol (phenol) content and has similar therapeutic applications. Allspice Oil is great to relax the nerves and muscles but must be strongly diluted (less than 1%) – absolutely to be used with caution if used topically as it is a dermal irritant at full strength.
Allspice Oil is a powerful broad-spectrum anti-microbial extract that can be vaporized during times of infection using a Firefly Vaporizer OR a Essential VAAAPP.  Allspice Berries is a delicious extract that adds spectacular Autumn hues into soups, potatoes, cookies and mixes quite well with other spice extracts. Be mindful of the extreme potency of this extract!  A little bit goes a huge way 🙂
FAQs
Allspice Berries CO2 is extracted from the dried berries of Pimenta dioica (aka Pimenta officinalis) using supercritical carbon dioxide, which captures a broader spectrum of aromatic compounds than steam distillation. The CO2 method preserves more of the berry's true aroma -- warm, spicy, complex, and surprisingly sweet. Steam-distilled allspice oil tends to emphasize the eugenol content giving it a more clove-like sharpness, while the CO2 extract is richer, more rounded, and more true to the actual spice you know from the kitchen. Its a premium option for perfumers and aromatherapists looking for the full allspice experience.
Allspice CO2 has a warm, rich, complex spice aroma that lives up to its name -- it genuinely smells like multiple spices at once. There are strong notes of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg, all wrapped in a warm, slightly sweet, berry-like richness. Its deeply comforting and evocative -- the kind of scent that conjures images of baking, autumn warmth, and mulled wine. Its softer and more rounded than clove bud oil, with more depth and sweetness.
Allspice is warming and stimulating in aromatherapy -- its used to promote circulation, ease physical tension, and create a sense of warmth and vitality. Its traditionally used to support the digestive system when applied greatly diluted to the abdomen. As a mood support, its rich, comforting fragrance helps ease stress and create feelings of warmth and security. Its also a stimulating oil that can help with mental fatigue and sluggishness during colder months.
Allspice CO2 is a wonderful spice note in natural perfumery -- it adds warmth, depth, and a comforting sweetness without the sharpness of clove. It works beautifully in oriental and gourmand compositions alongside vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, and benzoin. For a warming autumn blend, pair it with cedarwood, cardamom, and orange. It also pairs surprisingly well with florals like rose and jasmine, where it adds a warming spice contrast to the floral sweetness. Works great with other spices such as nutmeg, star anise or cinnamon. Start with small amounts -- it can dominate a blend if overdone.
Allspice CO2 contains eugenol, which can be a skin sensitizer, so proper dilution is essential before topical use. Always dilute in a carrier oil -- a 1% dilution of about 6 drops per ounce of carrier is a good starting point. Do a patch test before wider use, especially if you have sensitive skin. Avoid using on damaged or irritated skin. The warming properties make it popular in massage blends for muscle tension, but always use it well-diluted in these applications.
