Frequently Asked Questions
Avicenna Perfume is a botanical perfume created by Dr. Nick Berry, named after the legendary Persian polymath Ibn Sina (Avicenna) — the father of modern medicine and one of history’s greatest aromatherapists who pioneered the steam distillation of essential oils in the 10th century. The perfume is crafted entirely from pure essential oils, absolutes, and CO2 extracts infused in Organic Craft Spirits with no synthetic fragrance ingredients.
Avicenna features a complex, sophisticated aromatic profile inspired by the rich botanical traditions of the Middle East and Central Asia — warm resins, exotic florals, Mediterranean herbs and precious woods layered into a fragrance that unfolds gradually on the skin.
Each EOW botanical perfume has a distinct identity and aromatic direction. Avicenna draws from Middle Eastern and Persian aromatic traditions with an emphasis on resinous warmth and scholarly sophistication. Seduction focuses on sensual, aphrodisiac botanicals. Question Mark is deliberately enigmatic and unconventional. All three are crafted from pure plant materials with no synthetics.
Apply to pulse points — wrists, behind the ears, base of the throat, and inner elbows — where body heat will warm and project the fragrance. A small amount is sufficient; natural botanical perfumes are concentrated and develop over time on the skin. For extended wear, apply to well-moisturized skin or layer over a complementary unscented carrier oil.
Ibn Sina (980–1037 CE), known in the West as Avicenna, was a Persian polymath who wrote the Canon of Medicine and is credited with perfecting the steam distillation of essential oils — the foundational technique of aromatherapy and natural perfumery. Dr. Nick Berry named this perfume in honor of Avicenna’s contribution to the art and science of botanical extraction, reflecting a lineage of plant wisdom that Essential Oil Wizardry continues today.

Oh my goodness. Received this as a gift and let me tell you – it’s absolutely delicious! Kinda smoky, rich, deep and feels like I’m entering a ritual palace every time I put it on. 10/10!
